Sharece Bunn began her Peace Corps journey in 2005 when she joined group 29 as a TEFL Volunteer in Lypovets, Ukraine. Throughout her two years, Sharece built strong connections to her host family, especially her Babucya Masha, who still remembers all RPCVs and friends who visited Sharece in their small village.
After obtaining her master’s in journalism from the University of Oregon, Sharece returned to Ukraine from 2011-12 to serve with the first group of Peace Corps Response Volunteers in the city of Ternopil. It was her work at the university in Ternopil that guided her next steps: gaining a masters in higher education and forging a path to support international students at U.S. universities.
In January 2023, Sharece joined the Virtual Service Pilot Program in Ukraine to donate time to support high school students’ in their quest to understand misinformation in the news.
In her free time, Sharece enjoys reading, writing, and creating fun adventures.
